Tresemme Keratin Smooth: Review

IMG_9400
The TRESemme Keratin Smooth range has been the latest haircare range I’ve been putting to the test – and overall, my opinion is mixed. Well, not mixed exactly – but to put it simply, I love the deep treatment masque and the heat protection spray but I don’t think the shampoo/conditioner are for me.
But saying that, I do think they are all really great product – just not for my hair type. My hair does feel really wonderfully soft and silky after using them – and all round healthy. But it does leave it quite flat – which overall isn’t what I want. But if you have thicker hair, that naturally has a lot of volume (or even if you have hair that leans towards the ‘big’s side you want to make it more manageable) then I’m pretty sure that these will be right up your alley.
I should also say that I have been using the shampoo with a lighter conditioner (the Percy and Reed treatment) and do love the results from that – but the OCD part of me always wants to use a matching shampoo and conditioner… that’s probably really odd, but still…
The treatment mask is great for a weekly treat though – I’m trying to stick to a weekly routine of a mask every Sunday and this has been my recent favourite. The heat protection spray is also a winner, I find with some protection sprays they almost feel like they’re doing more damage than good when you hear them sizzle when you apply the heat tool – but this one feels good and seems to help hold my style in place.
So there we have it – for thicker hair than mine, do check out the shampoo/conditioner, but for fine hair I can recommend the mask (once a week) and the heat protection spray! Happy days!

I have to try this line, so far I’ve been using Cocoa Keratin Brazilian smoothing treatment with daily shampoo and conditioner and it’s worked brilliantly!

I have very thick, coarse, frizzy hair and tried the Tresemme keratin smooth hair mask today and can honestly say i was disappointed with the result. My hair did not feel as smooth or as soft as when I use the John Freida Straight Ahead range, shame as I was hoping for a miracle product as it takes me ages to straighten. Will be sticking to John Freida products.

I have to say that after a lifetime of never being happy, this shampoo and conditioner have worked wonders. I always messing with my hair but take today for instance, I washed and style it this morning at 6.30, it now 9.10pm and its been damp this afternoon and my hair looks as good as it did this morning and I haven’t brushed it once today. This is a miractle for me. I hope it lasts.

Ugh! This isn’t out in the U.S. yet but I have tried the Suave Keratin line and loved it!

Is it just me? Does anyone else absolutely hate this shampoo?
Maybe this product will work for those who have naturally straight, non-frizzy hair despite the claims on the packaging, however I suggest anyone with even a slight natural wave to steer clear of this shampoo unless you want to resemble Hermione Granger circa Chamber of secrets at best.

Oh dear, your comment made me laugh! Maybe because my hair is naturally straight it worked ok for me? Really interesting to read your experience though!
