Bobbi Brown Christmas 2012

IMG_4410

Bobbi Brown Christmas offerings ALWAYS get me really excited. They always feel a bit like they have been designed to meet my personal tastes exactly – always a pretty selection of pretty neutrals in pretty packaging that manages to capture that thing that’s part safe neutrals but still appeal so much that the words that seem to come into my head when I look at these are ‘hubba hubba’…. I know, so sophisticated.

But lets take a closer look at what I mean!

These loose pigments are great – loose, but in user-friendly packaging that’s great for application with minimal mess. The Moonlight Pearl is my favourite due to it’s taupe-tones but also love Pink Pearl for daytime. Black Pearl is gorgeously rich as a shade – I’m pretty sure I’ll look more like someone with a black eye than a smokey eye – but that’s down to my skills not the product!

These three lip glosses are a touch of three things I’m loving – a neutral, a lilac and a deep grape. I’m loving neutrals and lilacs as always and for A/W the grape is perfect. I wore the neutral Pink Mist for date night the other day and it feels lovely – not at all sticky and the pearly shimmer ads a bit of ‘oomph’ to lips fullness.
And on to the ‘piece de resistance’… the Bellini Lip and Eye palette. It’s stunning. It includes 10 eye shades in varying shades of neutrals plus a gorgeous matte black. Plus four lip gloss colours. I have to say I’m really happy to see they’re lip glosses rather than lipstick – as it makes a lovely change to have something lighter and fresh.

Pigment wise, the shadows are really good – and I especially love the shades on the bottom row. I couldn’t be more predictable with my love of neutral shades… but these really are so me. I love this palette.

Packaging wise I love the slightly preppy logo and the back of the palette has slightly chunky silver hinges – again, looking a bit old-school and preppy. The mirror also flips up so it’s easy to use – the mirror then folds down over the shadows – avoiding the annoying powder-stuck-in-gloss situation.

Overall – I can’t think of a neutral-loving girl out there who wouldn’t be over the moon to find this in their Christmas stocking…!
So do these goodies from the Bobbi Brown Christmas collection make you say ‘hubba hubba’ too!
