Lancome spree…

Last Friday I had that oh-so-familiar urge…to hit the shops. It can be very dangerous working so close to Oxford Street you know! So once I escaped the office for the weekend I made a little bee-line for Oxford Street with an indulgent browse around some of my favourite beauty halls in mind (plus a stop off for a quick eyebrow threading).

I ended up in Debenhams admiring the gorgeous Lancome Christmas collection – my first reason for going there was to stock up on my current favourite mascara ‘Lancome Hypnose Star‘ which I was pleased to see was currently available in a little Christmas gift set with a mini Bi-Facil and a khol liner for the same price as the mascara is available normally.

This is when it all started to go wrong…and by wrong I mean I was sucked in by the old ‘gift with purchase’…
Which led to this happening:

I had been admiring the Teint Miracle Foundation for a while and had tried a sample and liked it, but previously talking myself out of purchasing as I know I don’t need any extra foundations, I have plenty. But the girl on the counter was lovely and helpful and before I knew it I was handing over the credit card with wild abandon.
The gift with purchase deal was with two product you got a pretty little make-up bag filled with a whole host of sample products, including skincare plus a mini Hypnose Star and either a mini lipgloss or a mini Juicy Tube and two make-up brushes (foundation and concealer). Then with a *third* purchase you can also take home a full size Bi-Facil eye make-up remover…
So in case you didn’t guess, I went with the third purchase. For nostalgia I chose a Juicy Tube in Melon. Juicy Tubes were one of my first ever high-end make-up purchases and I always loved the Melon version as it didn’t contain glitter like the others did. My inner teenager is really happy to have this in my life again!
The three purchases I went for are…Hypnose Star Mascara, Teint Miracle Foundation and Melon Juicy Tube…and then I got a whole load of extras free! I won’t list them all as you can see them in the pictures, but have to say I’m pretty pleased with it all! Definitely good value for money!
On a slightly side note, I have to say I was really impressed with the service in Debenhams – friendly and helpful but not ‘sell sell sell’ or in your face at all. This was contrasted when I went into another one  (House of Fraser)  on the same evening where I was pestered so much I left!
All items from Debenhams, Oxford Street.

Bought by me, with some help from a PR voucher.

I’ve had my eye on the Hypnose gift set. It’s as good a time as any to try the mascara out. 🙂

  8. I had a huge Lancôme splurge the other day and received the free make up bag (which has amazing products in) and the bi facial. I actually chose something’s for Christmas (in a separate transaction) so I ended up getting 2 make up bags! Absolutely love Lancôme and their genifique and Hydra Zen are included free which is super because they’re really expensive – but so worth it. Love Lancôme products and yes they’re pricey but you get what you pay for 🙂 xxx

Would love it if you could check out my Lancôme haul 🙂 http://www.littlebeautyblogg.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/make-up-haul-lancome-and-body-shop.html
