Estee Lauder Stay On Shadow Paints

When it comes to make-up, I love nothing more than a product that’s easy to use and lasts a long time. I want to look like I’ve made an effort, but not really actually have to make that much effort to look that way…if that makes sense. So things like cream shadows that you can apply with your fingers, blend and be done with are my sort of thing!

Estee Lauder recently launched these Stay On Shadow Paints that do exactly that – Stay On. Even on oily eyelids like mine. Amazing stuff. I picked out three of thew news shades to play with – Sinister, Steel and Chained…

Sinister is a black, but with gorgeous blue-teal-ish shimmer. This is the easy to do smokey eye of the bunch.

Steel is the silvery shimmer one. Something safe and neutral-ish for my tastes, but with something a little different. It has a little bit a taupe/grey sort of shade to it that makes it a little easier to wear but is very cool toned.

Chained is the one I chose as I love shades that lean towards the orange side of the spectrum with blue eyes so this bronzey orange shade was ideal for this. This has the least glittery/shimmery finish of the three and has to be the easiest of the three to make work.

Texture wise, these feel really light and the pigment pay off is impressive. I found that surprisingly of the three the darkest was the easiest to use in terms of smooth application and deep colour on one swipe with Steel probably being the harder one to get the right colour pay off from when applied to the eye.

Which of the three shades stand out to you? What’s your view on cream shadow colour??

The pigmentation looks amazing and they’re kind of neutral colours too, which is great for me because I’m not wearing a lot of eyeshadow so I won’t go for any crazy colours!

    Great post!

I love a cream shadow as long as it’s easy to blend, I’ve tried ones that just look messy because they set before you have a chance to blend it in, but these look amazing. Chained looks gorgeous, this is a shade I always am drawn to!

OOooohh, they look good. I’m not sure any of those colours would suit me though! I haven’t used cream shadows a great deal, although I have one from Rimmel that I really like!

  6. Love the look of Chained and Steel. Steel looks almost holographic! Chained is my fave though too, would love that shade for summer.
