Paul & Joe My Secret Garden Collection

I’ve had this Paul & Joe My Secret Garden Collection sitting in my ‘to post’ pile for some time – and now seems like the perfect time. Is it just me or do they not look like the ideal spring items? Gorgeous floral and nature inspired packaging (as if Paul & Joe packaging is ever anything but totally gorgeous). The peachy coral blush, nude pink nail and bright pink lip…yep, a gorgeous collection.

The blush almost looks too pretty to use, but with it being such a gorgeous coral shade you just have to. The larger pot with the fluffy duster thingy (technical term) is filled with little powder pearls in a shimmering shade – for a pretty all over glow and subtle shine and exclusive to ASOS.

However, the two stand-outs for me are actually the bright pink lipstick – which is currently a make-up bag item of choice for me and the sparkly nail varnish. The sparkly nail varnish is a pretty champagne colour – but my favourite thing about it is that it has a few little blue sparkles through it too. Which makes it very pretty and a touch more unique.  You can see the blue bits catching the light in the pic above. The lipstick is a gorgeous bright pink that looks scary, but is actually very pretty and sheer and looks lovely on – just adds a very subtle pop of bright colour. Plus feels really hydrating – more like a tinted balm than a lipstick really.

Paul & Joe have to be one of the top picks for ‘present’ make-up – the stuff you give as a gift to a good friend as it’s just so darn pretty. It’s the sort of thing you like to have sitting on a dressing table looking pretty (I had their moisturising primer sitting on mine for that reason for some time!). The only downside to the prettiness of Paul & Joe is that the packaging is designed for looks rather than durability – the blusher and lipstick are both looking worse for wear after just a week or two in my daily make-up bag, as cardboard just doesn’t hold up against wear and tear. So as pretty as they are – they don’t stay that way if you use them in any way other than very delicately! Which is a real shame with such gorgeous things!
