Wedding Beauty: Eyelash Extensions

With only a few months to go until the wedding, I’ve started to ramp up the beauty front of prep. Starting to go for a few trials, starting courses of treatment for things that take a while and testing out some things that I’m considering for the big day, but don’t want to try for the first time close to the day in case I don’t like it. One of those things is eyelash extensions – courtesy of Perfect Eyelashes, a small salon that (as you can probably guess) specialises in lash application.

They have a range of lash extension products available so you can tailor your look to how natural/dramatic you want them to look. I opted for the more natural side – I wanted to look like I have freaking awesome natural lashes, rather than obviously false lashes applied. The lashes I had are the ‘Premier Diamond’ full set – a lighter and shinier option to mink. The treatment lasts around 2 hours and costs £150 if done by a director (slightly less for a more junior member of staff). Then if you go for infills they cost £70-80 (again, dependent on level of the person doing them).

The Perfect Eyelashes salon is fairly simple -with curtained off treatment beds rather than private rooms. On first impressions I though I might find it a bit ‘exposed’ but after about 15mins of laying down with my eyes shut… I was totally unaware and felt very chilled out. The treatment itself is really relaxing – and the time passes faster than you realise (yes, I may have nodded off for a while there…) and the results are fab. As you can probably see from the before and after – the results are noticeable, but natural and don’t look too dramatic. Which was the exact middle ground I wanted – just like I have really great natural lashes.

Of course, there is some aftercare – no getting the lashes wet for 48 hours after, no using mascara (unless oil free), no oil based make-up remover. Etc -they talk you through these at the time and leave you with a leaflet telling you everything you need to know. They also warn you that a little bit of shedding/fall out of the lashes in the days after application is normal – which is good as without it, I was a bit worried I was loosing all the freshly applied lashes!

The best things about the lashes are that you wake up with no make-up on and DON’T look like a mole-rat (google it if you’re not sure what this is…) but without mascara or lashes – this is pretty much what I look like. Mascara is my everyday essential that I wouldn’t leave the house without. I am really happy with the results – and it’s definitely something on my ‘wedding beauty’ wish list for the wedding and honeymoon.

They look incredible! I think I’d definitely have this done if I was getting married.

Thanks! I’m loving having good lashes 24/7 – without make-up!

I used to get lash extensions all the time and LOVED the look of them but after a while you just want to give your eyes a good old rub but can’t – frustrating! I’m getting married too but will def get them done again at the time x

Yep, I’m finding that a bit too – but def think they’re worth it for special occasions as I’m useless with falsies I apply myself!

It’s so true that a Perfect Eyelashes salon is fairly simple -with curtained off treatment beds rather than private rooms. It doesn’t need mascara when you use the lashes.
