Aerin Travel Brush Set

I’ve never thought travel brushes were a worthwhile investment. This is based on all the previous ones I’ve tried being frankly – rather rubbish. Usually quite harsh/sharp feeling bristles and handles so short you can’t really use them properly. Plus they always seem to include that brow/lash comb thing in such chunky plastic that it just doesn’t do anything useful. Maybe just me, but I’ve never understood those things. Anyway, gripes against Travel Brush Sets of the past be gone – this Aerin Travel Brush Set blows all of them out of the water.

First up, they’re very pretty. Not that it really matters, but I’m a shallow beauty blogger so to me, it does. The  brushes themselves are also useful types – two small ones (one being retractable – perfect for lipstick as can stop any cream colour smudging on to other brushes) that would be good for liner and lipstick. A nice fat shadow brush that’s perfect for a sweep of colour on your lids with minimal fuss. Then two larger brushes – one that would be perfect for powder and another ideal for bronzer/blusher. Basically all the touch up essentials. Throw in a buffer brush to the mix and it would be absolutely perfect – but for easygoing touch ups or taking away with a couple of other essentials.

Downside, the price. There’s no getting around the fact these are an investment piece at £120 for the set – but they are gorgeous. These will be coming away on honeymoon with me, 100%.

I had the honour of meeting Aerin Lauder a few weeks ago, when she was in the UK for a few days. It was an absolute pleasure to meet someone from such a beauty industry dynasty. Plus if you follow Aerin on Instagram then you really do get a flavour for how much she lives the simply glamorous life that the Aerin brand totally captures. If I could capture just a snippit of that glamour and style I’d be one happy blogger. At the breakfast I also got to have a good sniff of two new fragrances coming to the brand later this year. More on these later, but they’re absolutely lovely.
