Clinique Skin Care Review

clinique skincareToday’s post is taking a little bit of a look at the skincare routine I’ve been trying out for the last couple of weeks. I’m not a stranger to Clinique Three Step skin care, but this time I’m mixing things up by adding in the new Clinique Sonic Cleansing Brush, along with the step one cleansing routine. I’ve previously used the Three Step routine and always gotten along well with it – it’s one I’ve always found to just keep my skin nice and consistent – never causing breakouts and never causing it to try out or react in any extreme way at all.

This time around though, there are a couple of differences – firstly, my skin type has gotten more dry/dehydrated Β since I tried the Three Step for the first time. Secondly – there’s the addition of the Sonic Cleansing Brush. I’m a big fan of a gadget that helps do any beauty task/chore a bit quicker or a bit better and that’s where I think cleansing brushes become most helpful. They just push you to really focus on properly cleansing for a decent period – so less of my usual oil cleanser, rinse off and a quick second cleanse and then bed. Sometimes still with a bit of smudged mascara left around the eyes or so. This really makes you concentrate – like an electric toothbrush would for instance. It just makes you focus on cleansing and do it properly, rather than do it in a hurry and maybe not do it as well as you know you should.

I’m also a big fan of using a toner/liquid exfoliator as part of my day to day routine – primarily to just refresh skin and leave it feeling clean but partly because I like how it feels like it removes any left over cleanser on the skin. The final step of the routine has been the famous Dramatically Different Moisture Lotion + Β a light feeling but effective moisturiser. Personally, I really like this for day time (plus a separate SPF) as it feels light and hydrating at the same time under make-up. For night I tend to lean towards thicker textures generally.

I think adding a little gadget into your skincare routine such as the Clinique Sonic Brush is a good way to just make sure you’re really paying attention to your skincare routine at the cleansing bit. You might be using the best products ever – but if you’re not getting the daily grime off, then your skin is never really going to glow like you want it to! Now, after writing all of this I am craving a major facial session – starting with a good cleanse. So I’m off to do just that!

Ooh that’s a good idea, using it to ensure that you cleanse your face properly and to stop you from rushing. I’ve never really been inclined to use these products because of their prices, but from this review I think I may have to rethink my previous opinion!

I really want a cleansing brush, they seem so thorough! And I bet they’d help loads with clearing any blemishes.

I’ve been using the Clinique 3 step skincare routine since I was 16 and my skin has never been the same – it’s the perfect match for my skin. I know exactly when I get spots now (when I don’t take my make-up off or when I have too much alcohol!) and this always clears them right up. My skin is one of my favourite features because of this brand and I love it when people give it positive reviews! I want to purchase the cleansing brush one day but it might just take a bit of saving up! Great post :)
