The new Jo Malone Orris and Sandalwood is the newest member of the Cologne Intense gang. Also known as the ones in the black bottles. Essentially the Cologne Intense scents are quite heady, often with something a bit smokey or ‘oud’ notes. 
Personally I am partial to the odd heady perfume so always interested to see what they add to the range next. This one is really unusual I feel in that it’s sort of like a smokey, intense Parma violets scent. It’s an intense floral and one of the best things about it being how it really lasts on the skin.
There’s something about this that immediately made me think it would layer perfectly with Mimosa & Cardamom. Which is exactly how I’m wearing it today. I’m a big fan of the fragrance combining thing to create something a little more unique to you.
The fragrances in the Cologne Intense range are (as the name kinda gives a clue to) more intense and longer lasting. So they probably won’t be to everyone’s taste but if you like something that really makes an impact and has that distinct Parma violets rush when you first smell it then you’re in for a treat with this one. Definitely try it layered with the mimosa one too – I love this combination!

Although this scent doesn’t appeal to me largely, I still can’t wait to try it out in store! Something about ever Jo Malone fragrance is just so unique.
