YSL Rouge Volupte Shine

When it comes to gorgeous lipstick, then YSL really does take some beating. The whole family of YSL lipsticks are about as gorgeously packaged as they come and I can only think of one or two that might be in with a chance with competing for the ‘most lusted over by bloggers’ title alongside these golden tubes of lip goodness. So when YSL Rouge Volupte Shine launches some new shades, it’s right about time for us blogger types to go a tad nuts. IMG_1808

There are 12 new shades in the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine range. The formula contains six oils, pomegranate, macadamia butter, hyaluronic acid, pigments and pearly bits to make a lip colour that manages to glide on to lips to create a smoother and more hydrated finish both immediately and over time.

The colours are each grouped into three ‘themes’ the ‘day bloomers’ – easy to wear day to day shades, the ‘night birds’ the party-girl friendly colours and the ‘weekenders’ that include some bright poppy shades that add a flash of colour to off-duty faces.

I have six shades here to show you, covering each of the ‘theme’ groups. I have: 41 Corail A Porter, 43 Rose Rive Gauche, 44 Nude Lavalliere, 45 Rouge Tuxedo, 46 Orange Perfecto, 52 Trepeze Pink.

Day Bloomers: Corail A Porter, Rose Rive Gauche, Nude Lavalliere

Night Birds: Rouge Tuxedo and Orange Perfecto

Weekenders: Trapeze Pink

L-R: 41 Corail A Porter, 43 Rose Rive Gauche, 44 Nude Lavalliere, 45 Rouge Tuxedo, 46 Orange Perfecto, 52 Trepeze Pink.

Below I have a snap of each of the shades being worn by moi. Texture wise they’re all a total dream. Smooth and creamy and easy to apply either on the go or more perfectly in front of a mirror. The colours do lean towards the sheer side, but not so sheer that they fall into ‘tinted balm’ territory’.

My personal favourites from the bunch are Trepeze Pink (this was my colour of choice for the long Easter weekend) and Nude Lavalliere – a gorgeous flattering ‘my lips but better’. But there’s no denying all the shades are gorgeous and can’t be faulted on formula. Sure, they’re not in the same family as the opaque matte lip colours doing the rounds but personally I’ve always loved something with a little more moisture and shine – they’re easier and more comfortable to wear. Plus my always-dry lips love them.

The new 12 shades join an existing line up of 18 – all priced £26 each.

Thank you! My favourite is the bright pink I think but will go for the more peachy corals for summer too!

So pretty! I think even if the lipstick was green I’d love them for the packaging alone!
