Giorgio Armani Power Fabric Foundation Review

Giorgio Armani Power Fabric

A recent delivery from Giorgio Armani had be squealing like a teenage fan girl. I opened a box to reveal the full selection of Giorgio Armani lust-worthy make-up products. Including the famous Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation * , Maestro Foundation * , Maestro Glow *  and the NEW Giorgio Armani Power Fabric foundation *. The newest addition, a long wear, higher coverage option, with SPF 25.

The existing products in the Giorgio Armani family offer more of a glowy/natural options for bases. Power Fabric fills that gap for those who are after that longer lasting, higher coverage finish. Now, the beauty obsessive side of me gets VERY excited about this new base addition – I do love the Luminous Silk, it’s one of my all time favourite bases. It’s the perfect combination of ‘just right’ coverage, but looks glowy and natural. But also fairly buildable if you want a little more. So the new Giorgio Armani Power Fabric has some big shoes to fill if it’s going to take it’s place as most-loved in my beauty stash.

Starting with the ‘first impressions’. It’s nice and fluid, it doesn’t feel heavy – it’s more liquid than I maybe expect for a longer lasting base. But still thicker than Luminous or Maestro. It applies really well – the package that it arrived in included a gorgeous personalised foundation brush (squeal) but I did still opt for my own dampened beauty blender as it’s my current go-to for all foundation application. Below you can check out a before – no foundation, after – just foundation.

My before shows my main complexion ‘issues’, being mainly redness. On my nose, cheeks and chin. The Power Fabric definitely helps cover those and events everything out. It blends pretty well, although takes a little more blending than it’s lighter cousins. Overall it definitely evened everything out to a less pinky finish. The shade I used is 2 – in Luminous Silk I hover between 3 and 4 (depending on time of year). It works, but I do think it’s maybe a smidge too yellow toned for me. Being hyper critical of the photos now I think maybe I should have spent a little longer blending, but that could be down to the shade of the foundation OR the blend.

But I guess that’s something to factor into my review. For me, I still think Luminous Silk would win over this new foundation. Very much down to my personal preference of lighter, more natural bases. I’d take a lighter base, even if it doesn’t last as long or offer as much coverage. BUT if you want that mix of a light feeling foundation AND coverage that lasts then this is great. Just be prepared for maybe a touch extra work to get it looking it’s best.

I also think it would work pretty well to blend the Power Fabric with the Maestro Glow if you maybe wanted a bit more radiance. I’ll have to give that a whirl and update with how I get on!

This is lovely, you look so fresh-faced and luminous! Also can I just say how grateful I am that you still do before and after photos for your reviews – it really helps when looking for a new product, I personally like seeing it on someone’s face before splashing out or trying it myself! xx

Thanks Dani, it’s something I really want to continue to do well – I want my beauty reviews to be helpful for others rather than just me looking my best! Really appreciate your comment though as it’s good to know it’s an approach that’s appreciated!
